I am excited to be able to tell you that I am graduating this year in the class of 2010! It has been an exhilarating journey through High School; I have made great friends and memories I will never forget. High School is known to people as the best moments of their lives and I would have to agree, all the fun that I have experienced thus far in life has been awesome! So the next thing I would like to tell you is that I am leaving to volunteer my summer at the Youth Missions for Christ (YWAM) base in Kona, Hawaii! I am leaving on June 11th and will be returning August 23rd to attend Cornerstone University the following fall. In this time in Kona I will be working for the University of the Nations as a “Missions builder”, serving 40 hours per week. One thing that I look forward to is learning to have a servant’s heart. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” -Colossians 3:23-24.
Another aspect of this trip will be me living with like-minded believers to advance the kingdom of God, which his word tells us, is here now. I will be in an apartment about a mile from campus with 2-3 other people rooming with me. Living in community with like-minded people whom are soon to be my friends will be gnarly! Enjoying Gods beautiful creation in Hawaii will be by far one of the best experiences of my life and I know I won’t ever forget it. Also people from around the world come to this campus to learn about Christ’s identity and how to not only read the Bible but in fact apply it to their lives.
So this is what I am asking from you, my goal is to at least raise the money for my ticket there, as I will not need much money while there because the work I will be doing pays my room and board. The tickets for the round trip are a little over $1,000 and also I have some expense money I need to raise, if you feel in anyway led to help me reach my goal that is awesome! But if now in this time giving isn’t really something that you can do I simply ask this, earthier way the thing I will need most is prayer. If you can pray for me, that is worth more than any amount of money because God provides! Praying that while in Hawaii I would delight daily in His word, walk in His footsteps, and communicate with Him constantly is what I really want out of this whole deal. Also thank you to all of the people who are already supporting me financially and spiritually, every bit counts.
